FutureDisneyCEO Presents: Shanghai!

Pudong New District, Shanghai, China – Well it finally happened. After literally years of on-again, off-again agreements between Disney and various Shanghai China entities, an official groundbreaking for a new Disney park took place on April 8, 2011. This symbolic turning of a few shovels full of dirt marked the end of all the negotiations that had more ups and downs than Space Mountain, Expedition Everest and the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster combined!
The Shanghai Disney Resort will be located on mainland China in the Pudong New District, Here. The Shanghai Disney Resort will be home to Shanghai Disneyland, a Magic Kingdom-style park.
The entire resort will cover 963 acres. In comparison, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida covers 30,000 acres while Disneyland Resort in California occupies 500 acres.
Shanghai Disneyland, the actual park area, will be cover 225 acres while the Magic Kingdom in Orlando is 107 acres. There will be two on-site hotels, one value and one deluxe, with a total of 1,220 rooms. The shopping, dining and entertainment area will be approximately 300,000 square feet of retail space. FutureDisneyCEO Presents The Latest News

Long time no see, eh? Well today, i promise to update it everyday i can, also known as everyday i remember. Enough about me, lets get on to what you are really here for, some Disney News!!!!!!!

The first thing i want to talk about is the new disney store, and a trusted source over at WDWMAGIC forums has some insider news:
“I was recently given a tour of the model store for the new style of Disney Store “Imagination park”
This store will be smaller than most Disney stores but will be all about the experience. The main effect from the parks that will be used is the pepper ghost effect.
1. The store will have a ceremony each day to open the store where one child will be picked to turn the magic key to open the store.
2. LED’s galour! There will be LED lights all over the store including in a trail on the floor “pixie dust trail” that leads to a center Gazebo where small events will be held. These may include meet and greets but also will include story time and other events. There will also be LED lights on the walls which will include and effect that will have Tink flying across the wall, and the other one I saw on th opposite side was Buzz.
3. The ceiling will be used to create park like atmosphere because it will be covered in LED’s. This will allow CM’s at any time (via I-pad) to trigger a rather impressive LED fireworks display. Also we will be able to change the mood by making it appear to either be night or day in the store.
4. There will be several mirrors around the store that each have a wand. When you wave the wand different characters will appear and interact with guest from the many princesses to, Ligtning Mcqueen, Nemo, Toy Story, Captain JAck. The system will be able to be updated constantly so new characters can be added reguarly. There may also be RFID tech used in this process.
5. There may be at some point the addition of a central interactive AA like Mr. Potato Head from TSMM
6. All of the tech will be Apple and all of the effects will be controlled via I-pad. Let me start off by saying like everything Disney does this stuff is subject to change but a lot of it has already been approved.” Pretty exciting stuff right!?!? i can tell you i am sure excited.
The next is some speculation from over at stitchkingdom.com

“I won’t pretend to understand them, but two related patent applications have just been published for Disney Enterprises in which Disney presents a way of producing colorful fireworks using an alternative chemical make-up.
The problem with current fireworks, the applications say, is that the perchlorates commonly found in pyrotechnics such as fireworks produce a large amount of smoke which makes use of large fireworks inside some closed arenas such as stadiums implausible. In addition, even when used outdoors, the perchlorates can find their way into a small percentage of drinking water, posing health risks.
Citing previously granted patents offering alternative chemical make-up of fireworks to produce low-smoke fireworks, Disney’s applications point out that the existing solutions require ingredients that are not readily available.
Disney has already pioneered new innovations in the pyrotechnics industry, having developed the Air-Launch Fireworks (ALF) system used at Disneyland and Epcot in which many (but not all) of the fireworks shells are launched into the air using compressed air as opposed to the industry norm of gunpowder.”
Ever wanted to visit DisneyLand Paris, but didnt want to go all the way to France? Now you can with Google Earth!!!!! Check out some of these pics :)

FutureDisneyCEO Examines Cinderella’s Castle!

Cinderella Castle is 189 feet tall & is made out of fibreglass.
Construction of the castle began in late 1969.
Herbert Ryman began with a charcoal sketch, which he developed into a painting. He used several French castles for his inspiration, among them Chambord, Usse, and Chenonceau. Inspiration also came from the classic Walt Disney animated feature Cinderella.
It took 18 months to build the castle.

Six hundred tons of steel were used in the framework.
Imagineers sculpted exterior and interior walls to resemble solid granite.
There are 10 towering spires on the castle.
Contrary to myth, the castle cannot be, nor has it ever been, dismantled in the event of a hurricane.
Finishing touches to the castle included Cinderella’s mice friends carved into decorative columns and the Disney family crest in stone above the breezeways.
What’s inside the castle? A shop selling glass & crystal ornaments, & a restaurant Cinderella’s Royal Table (formerly King Stefan’s Banquet Hall).
A series of mosaic tile murals adorn the walls in the entry corridor. The murals, designed by imagineer Dorothea Redmond and executed by mosaicist Hanns-Joachim Scharff, tell the story of Cinderella in five 15-by-10-foot panels.
“The bricks [not real] in cinderella castle get smaller at the top section to make the castle look bigger” Joel
“Walt said there is nothing to be taller then the castle that is why he put a flag on the very top of it.” Randy G
